Pitṛ-sarga and the Greatness of Śrāddha: The Inquiry
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It highlights that Shiva’s highest gifts arise from his pleased grace (anugraha) in response to sincere devotion, and that the greatest boons are rare even across the three worlds.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s accessible, personal form—one who becomes pleased through worship and grants blessings; Linga-worship similarly aims at invoking Shiva’s grace that leads from worldly benefits toward liberation.
The implied practice is steady bhakti with patient receptivity—regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined Shiva-puja, awaiting Shiva’s grace without impatience.
