Consolation of the Devas and the Ordinance of Consequences in the Dakṣa-Yajña Episode
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It portrays Śiva as the compassionate Pati (Lord) who speaks truth without agitation and has the power to absorb, restrain, and purify the agitation of beings—teaching that spiritual authority is grounded in forbearance and clarity.
As Saguna Śiva, the Lord communicates directly and guides devotees away from reactive anger toward steadiness; Linga-worship similarly trains the mind in one-pointedness and inner cooling, aligning the worshipper with Śiva’s calm, truth-bearing nature.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with attentive listening and restraint of krodha, supported by Shaiva disciplines like applying Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and maintaining mindful composure in speech.
