गिरिराजस्य शिवनिमन्त्रणम् / The Mountain-King Invites Śiva
Hospitality to Śiva and the Devas
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it depicts cosmic-social harmony around the divine event: mutual praise (paraspara-praśaṃsā) and Vedic victory-acclamations, signaling dharma’s stabilization.
Significance: Models the ideal kṣetra atmosphere: Vedic sound (śabda) and sādhujaya-dhvani sanctify the gathering; pilgrims gain puṇya through śravaṇa (hearing) and saṅkīrtana (praise).
Type: rudram
It presents dharmic celebration as a sacred act: when minds turn to mutual praise aligned with Vedic truth and saintly conduct, the atmosphere becomes spiritually elevating and supportive of Shiva-bhakti.
The verse highlights the outer signs of Saguna worship—stotra, auspicious sounds, and collective utsava—through which devotees gather, affirm dharma, and deepen devotion that ultimately matures toward inner realization.
Engage in sattvic utsava: recitation of Vedic hymns and Shiva-stotras with “jaya” acclamations, keeping saintly conduct (sādhu-bhāva). This can be paired with japa of the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” during communal worship.
