FAQs

It portrays the taming of chaotic, ego-driven force and its being brought under rightful authority—symbolizing how the devotee’s disciplined courage subdues inner turbulence and offers it at the feet of the divine order (Śiva’s governance) for purification.

The action of bringing the subdued power “before the master” mirrors the devotional movement toward Saguna Śiva—where all energies, victories, and passions are surrendered at the Lord’s presence (often ritually centered on the Liṅga as the seat of Śiva’s sovereign grace).

A practical takeaway is to pair japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with breath-restraint to ‘seize the horns’ of restlessness—then conclude by offering the mind’s agitation into Śiva through Liṅga-dhyāna and a simple act of surrender (ārpaṇa-bhāva).
