गजाननपूजा तथा औपासन-होमविधिः
Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
प्रदद्याद्दक्षिणान्तस्मै हेमादिपरिबृंहिताम् । ब्रह्माणमुद्वास्य ततः प्रातरौपासनं हुनेत्
pradadyāddakṣiṇāntasmai hemādiparibṛṃhitām | brahmāṇamudvāsya tataḥ prātaraupāsanaṃ hunet
Kemudian hendaknya ia memberikan dakṣiṇā penutup kepada sang purohita, diperkaya dengan emas dan sebagainya. Setelah itu, dengan hormat memulangkan Brahmā (pemimpin upacara), ia melakukan homa pagi (aupāsana) sebagai ibadah harian.

Significance: Emphasizes dharmic completion of worship through dakṣiṇā and daily agni-upāsanā; supports steadiness (sthiti) in sādhana and purification of karma.
Role: nurturing
It teaches that Shaiva worship is completed by gratitude and right order: honoring the sacred rite through dakṣiṇā, respectfully concluding the ritual space, and then returning to steady daily upāsanā—discipline that purifies the paśu and aligns it toward Pati (Śiva).
In Saguna Śiva worship, outer acts (homa, offerings, and dakṣiṇā) are not merely social customs; they seal the worship with dharma and humility, supporting inner devotion to the Liṅga as the accessible form of the Supreme Pati.
Complete the rite by giving dakṣiṇā (ideally with worthy gifts), perform udvāsa (formal dismissal/closure), and then do prātaḥ-upāsanā with a morning homa—accompanied by Shaiva mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as appropriate to one’s tradition.
