Mahāpārśva-vadhaḥ — The Slaying of Mahāpārśva
Angada’s Counterstrike
Seeing Gavaksha and Jambavantha afflicted by shafts, deluded with anger, Angada took hold of a dreadful iron bar.
Dharma is tested in crisis: when the righteous side suffers injury, the duty shifts toward protection of companions and restoration of justice, not revenge for its own sake.
Mahāpārśva wounds Jāmbavān and attacks Gavākṣa amid the battlefield chaos.
Loyalty and steadfastness of Rama’s allies is foregrounded—Jāmbavān and the Vānara leaders endure harm while remaining in the righteous cause.
