सुवेलारोहणं रावण-सुग्रीव-नियुद्धम्
Ascent of Suvela and the Ravana–Sugriva Duel
कृत्वानियुद्धंभृशमुग्रवेगौकालंचिर, गोपुरवेदिमध्ये ।उत्क्षिप्यचोत्क्षिप्यविनम्यदेहौपादक्रमाद्गोपुरवेदिलग्नौ ।।।।
kṛtvā niyuddhaṃ bhṛśam ugravegau kālaṃ ciraṃ gopuravedimadhye |
utkṣipya cotkṣipya vinamya dehau pādakramād gopuravedilagnau ||
Setelah lama bergulat dengan dahsyat di tengah pelataran menara gerbang, keduanya dengan daya yang ganas berulang kali mengangkat dan membanting satu sama lain, membungkukkan tubuh dan menggeser pijakan, namun tetap bertahan di atas landasan menara itu.
Sugriva and Ravana, their bodies sweating all over, bodies coloured red with blood looking like red silk cotton trees, their bodies clinging together interlocked with each other stood motionless. They were fighting with their fists, palms and blows of forearms, hurting each other with nails and carrying out unbearable forms of war.
