Sugriva the king of men and monkeys, Hanuman the son of wind god, Jambavan the king of Bears, Vibheeshana, Vali's son Angada, Sarabha, accompanied by his kin Sushena, Mainda, Dwivida, Gaja, Gavaksha, Kumuda, the wise Nala and Panasa arrived at the enemy city and collected together thought like this.
Dharma is the protection of beings from oppression: Rāma frames the war as ending Rāvaṇa’s persecution across worlds and commits himself to the burden of confronting the tyrant.
Rāma assigns himself and Lakṣmaṇa the northern gate assault, declaring his resolve to slay Rāvaṇa who torments many beings.
Rāma’s satya-saṅkalpa (truthful resolve) and kṣātra-dharma (kingly duty): taking personal responsibility for decisive action against adharma.
