सागरप्रशमनम् / The Pacification of the Ocean and the Building of Nala’s Bridge
अरुजंश्चैनशैलाग्राशनिखराणिबभञ्जनः ।दिविस्पृशोमहमेघास्सङ्गतास्समहास्वनाः ।।।।मुमुचुर्वैद्युताननगींस्तेमहाशनयस्तदा ।
arujaṃś caina śailāgrāś ca nikharāṇi babhañjanaḥ |
divi spṛśo mahāmeghāḥ saṅgatāḥ sa mahāsvanāḥ |
mumucuḥ vaidyutān agnīṃs te mahāśanayas tadā ||6.22.11||
Guncangan itu pun memecah puncak-puncak gunung dan tebing-tebingnya. Awan-awan besar yang menjilat langit berkumpul dengan gemuruh dahsyat; lalu mereka memuntahkan api kilat dengan dentuman menggelegar.
Huge clouds collected were moving at extraordinary speed in the sky breaking mountain peaks. Those clouds in the sky sent forth fire of lightning making a loud sound.
Dharma is portrayed as a force that can shake the cosmos when confronted or upheld; the world itself signals the seriousness of the moral conflict.
The atmosphere becomes catastrophic—mountains crack, clouds mass, thunder and lightning erupt—mirroring the escalating confrontation at the ocean.
The verse primarily magnifies the intensity of Rāma’s righteous intent through epic-scale natural imagery.
