एवं ब्रुवाणं सौमित्रिं करुणं साश्रुलोचनम्।हनुमान्प्रत्युवाचेदं वाक्यं वाक्यविशारदः।।
evaṃ bruvāṇaṃ saumitriṃ karuṇaṃ sāśrulocanam | hanumān pratyuvācedaṃ vākyaṃ vākyaviśāradaḥ ||
Ketika Saumitri berkata demikian dengan penuh iba, matanya basah oleh air mata, Hanumān—yang mahir dalam tutur kata—menjawab dengan ucapan ini.
To Saumitri who was speaking thus in a piteous tone, his eyes filled with tears the eloquent Hanuman replied:
Dharma here is compassionate and appropriate response: when another suffers, a wise person replies with measured, helpful speech rather than harshness.
Lakṣmaṇa speaks sorrowfully (with tears), and the narration turns to introduce Hanumān’s reply.
