इमं हि सालं सहित स्त्वया शरोन संशयोऽत्रास्ति विदारयिष्यति।अलं विमर्शेन मम प्रियं ध्रुवंकुरुष्व राजात्मज शापितो मया4.11.92।।
imaṁ hi sālaṁ sahitas tvayā śaro na saṁśayo 'trāsti vidārayiṣyati |
alaṁ vimarśena mama priyaṁ dhruvaṁ kuruṣva rājātmaja śāpito mayā ||
Anak panahmu yang tepat sasaran pasti akan membelah pohon śāla ini—tiada keraguan di sini. Cukuplah pertimbangan; lakukanlah yang pasti menyenangkan hatiku, wahai putra raja—seakan aku terikat oleh ikrarku sendiri.
'O Dear, therefore, I have my doubt about your relative strength. If you can split a sala tree with a single arrow then can your strength or weakness be demonstrated.
Dharma as commitment to truth and timely action: once a righteous course is clarified by proper evidence, delay becomes harmful; action should follow discernment.
Sugrīva urges Rama to perform the śāla-tree test, stating confidence that Rama’s arrow will pierce it and thereby settle the doubt.
Resolve guided by prudence: Sugrīva balances prior caution with decisiveness once a fair test is proposed.
