Protection of Viśvāmitra’s Sacrifice at Siddhāśrama
While he was fracing up for a fight, the fire on the sacrificial altar with the officiating priests and spiritual guides suddenly brightened.
Readiness to protect righteousness: Rāma’s disciplined willingness to fight is aligned with safeguarding the sacrificial rite (yajña), a dharmic duty in the epic.
At Viśvāmitra’s sacrificial setting, as Rāma declares his intent and readiness, the altar-fire suddenly brightens—functioning as an auspicious sign connected to the rite’s success.
Vīrya with restraint: courageous resolve (yuyutsā) expressed in service of a sacred obligation rather than personal anger.
