FAQs

Gentleness in conduct and restraint in speech—specifically, not indulging in censure (nindā) or insult (kutsā)—is presented as the hallmark of a paṇḍita (wise person).

It implies that the wise maintain their composed, non-abusive nature regardless of their surroundings—whether among the virtuous or amid those engaged in sinful conduct.

Cultivate a calm, amiable temperament and practice verbal non-violence: avoid fault-finding and contemptuous speech, which preserves clarity of mind and dharmic character.
