सा कथं दुःखमाप्नोति कुष्ठरोगं सुदुःखदम् । शिवशर्मोवाच । मा शुचस्त्वं महाभाग भुज्यते कर्मजं फलम्

sā kathaṃ duḥkhamāpnoti kuṣṭharogaṃ suduḥkhadam | śivaśarmovāca | mā śucastvaṃ mahābhāga bhujyate karmajaṃ phalam

Bagaimana ia sampai menderita—tertimpa kusta, penyakit yang amat menyiksa? Śivaśarmā berkata: “Jangan bersedih, wahai yang mulia; buah yang lahir dari karma memang harus dialami.”
