Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: tirtha

FAQs

The verse highlights upavāsa (fasting) as a dharmic observance associated with participation in a mahotsava (great religious festival).

A “brāhmaṇasattama,” meaning an exemplary or foremost brāhmaṇa, is said to remain there and undertake the fasting observance.

It implies steadiness and discipline—remaining in a sacred context and accepting a vow-like observance (fasting) as part of religious life and self-restraint.
