FAQs

It describes a brāhmaṇa devotee of Viṣṇu—learned in spiritual knowledge—being pleased and content due to the respectful conduct of a householder and his wife, and being with his sons.

By highlighting the identity “Vaiṣṇava” alongside “jñāna-paṇḍita,” it presents devotion to Viṣṇu as compatible with (and supported by) spiritual learning, and implies that honoring such devotees is virtuous.

Proper respect and service—especially when offered jointly by a household couple—brings satisfaction to virtuous guests and devotees, reflecting the dharmic ideal of hospitality and reverence for the learned.
