Narada (teaching/instructing within a Tirtha-Mahatmya setting in Uttara-Bhaga)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It authorizes a Purāṇa-sanctioned mantra for tirtha practice, framing Gaṅgā as a divine power linked with Nārāyaṇa and Śiva, so that remembrance (japa) becomes an act of purification and reverence.
Bhakti is expressed here as repeated salutations (namo namaḥ) through mantra-japa, directing the mind to sacred names and presences—Gaṅgā, Nārāyaṇī, and Śivā—rather than mere external ritual.
It highlights mantra-prayoga (practical application of sacred formulae) and correct recitation with Oṁ and dative invocations (gaṅgāyai, nārāyaṇyai, śivāyai), aligning with Śikṣā (phonetics) and Vyākaraṇa (grammatical case-usage) in ritual speech.
