The Liberation of the Lizard
Godhā-vimukti
Narada (instructional discourse; ritual/vrata-style guidance)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
The verse reflects a vrata-style, protective domestic rite aimed at preserving marital fidelity and harmony, emphasizing careful observance and safeguarding of the prescribed ritual object.
Bhakti is not explicit here; the focus is pragmatic grihastha practice. In the Purāṇic frame, such rites are typically performed with faith (śraddhā) and reverence to dharma, which supports a disciplined life conducive to devotion.
It chiefly reflects kalpa-prayoga (ritual procedure) rather than a specific Vedāṅga lesson; the practical takeaway is adherence to prescribed application (saṃyojana) and protection (rakṣaṇa) of the ritual implement as part of rite-accuracy.
