The verse emphasizes the principle that ritual action (karma) becomes targeted and efficacious through precise specification—here symbolized by placing the intended name at the heart of the effigy—followed by a formally prescribed offering into fire.
This particular verse is primarily procedural rather than devotional: it focuses on correct ritual method (prayoga) and does not directly teach Vishnu-bhakti; its relevance to bhakti would be indirect, insofar as disciplined, rule-based worship can accompany devotion.
It highlights ritual prayoga and precision in karmakāṇḍa-style procedure—how a rite is executed step-by-step (including naming, tool specification, and homa offering), aligning with technical disciplines used to systematize yajña practices.
