Ganeśa hendaknya digambarkan memegang pāśa (tali jerat) dan aṅkuśa (cambuk gajah), menampilkan mudrā abhaya dan vara, serta satu tangan membawa modaka. Ia dipeluk permaisurinya, bertubuh kemerahan, dan bermata tiga.
Narada (in an instructional/technical prescription style typical of Vedanga/ritual chapters)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It gives a precise dhyāna/visual specification of Gaṇeśa, showing him as the remover of obstacles (pāśa–aṅkuśa) and the giver of protection and blessings (abhaya–vara), which supports focused worship and mantra-based contemplation.
By prescribing a clear form for meditation and worship—hands, emblems, gestures, color, and divine companionship—it enables saguna-bhakti (devotion with form), where devotion is stabilized through a definite visual and symbolic focus.
Practical ritual-technical knowledge: murti-lakṣaṇa (iconographic rules) used in pūjā and dhyāna—how a deity is to be represented for correct worship and ritual efficacy.
