Transliteration

na khalv anyatra martyānāṃ bhūmau karma vidhīyate / tasmād vistaraśo brahman! mamaitad bhārataṃ vada

Translation

Sesungguhnya, bagi manusia fana, di bumi ini tidak ditetapkan jalan karma (sebagai laku yang diperintahkan) di tempat lain. Karena itu, wahai Brahmana, ceritakanlah kepadaku tentang Bhārata ini secara terperinci.
