Educational Q&A

A righteous ruler first offers due honour and hospitality according to established norms, and only then asks the visitors’ purpose—showing restraint, courtesy, and adherence to rajadharma.

King Ikṣvāku receives a group at the boundary/first point of meeting, performs proper welcoming rites, and then asks them collectively why they have come.
