The verse highlights balance in dharma: austerity and self-control are honored, yet household life and conjugal duty also have a rightful place when approached with purity, mutual respect, and proper timing (kāla).
After a long period, the sage Agastya sees his wife Lopāmudrā returning from her bath, glowing with ascetic radiance, and—pleased by her disciplined conduct—calls her near, indicating readiness to enter the conjugal phase of their life.
