पुण्यं चाख्यायते दिव्यं शिवमग्निशिरोडनघ । सहदेवो5यजद्‌ यत्र शम्याक्षेपेण भारत,उधर ही अग्निशिर नामक दिव्य, कल्याणमय, पुण्यतीर्थ बताया जाता है। निष्पाप भरतनन्दन! उसी तीर्थमें सहदेवने शमीका डंडा फेंकवाकर, जितनी दूरीमें वह डंडा पड़ा था उतनी दूरीमें, मण्डप बनवाकर उसमें यज्ञ किया

puṇyaṃ cākhyāyate divyaṃ śivam agniśiro 'nagha | sahadevo 'yajad yatra śamyākṣepena bhārata ||

Dhaumya berkata: “Wahai keturunan Bharata yang tanpa noda, di sini ada tirtha suci bernama Agniśiras—ilahi, membawa keberkahan, dan menyucikan. Di tempat inilah Sahadeva melaksanakan yajña; ia menandai batas gelanggang upacara dengan melempar tongkat dari kayu śamī, lalu mendirikan paviliun yajña seluas jarak tempat tongkat itu jatuh.”
