ततः सददश्वांश्वतुर: कुलशीलसमन्वितान् | योजयामास कुशलो जवयुक्तान् रथे नल:,तब चतुर एवं कुशल राजा नलने अच्छी जाति और उत्तम स्वभावके चार वेगशाली घोड़ोंको रथमें जोता
tataḥ sa dadarśāśvān śvaturāḥ kulaśīlasamanvitān | yojayāmāsa kuśalo javayuktān rathe nalaḥ ||
Lalu ia melihat empat ekor kuda yang tangkas, berketurunan baik dan berwatak elok. Nala, yang terampil dalam pekerjaan itu, memasangkan kuda-kuda terlatih untuk kecepatan itu pada kereta.
