शेषं कुर्याद्‌ गिरेवज्रो निपतन्‌ मूर्थ्नि संजय । नतु कुर्यु: शरा: शेषं क्षिप्तास्तात किरीटिना,संजय! पर्वतके शिखरपर गिरनेवाला वज्र भले ही कुछ बाकी छोड़ दे; किंतु तात! किरीटधारी अर्जुनके चलाये हुए बाण कुछ भी शेष नहीं छोड़ेंगे

śeṣaṃ kuryād girevajro nipatan mūrdhni saṃjaya | na tu kuryuḥ śarāḥ śeṣaṃ kṣiptās tāta kirīṭinā ||

Wahai Saṃjaya, bahkan halilintar yang menghantam puncak gunung mungkin masih menyisakan sesuatu; tetapi, wahai dear one, anak panah yang dilepaskan Arjuna sang pemakai mahkota tak menyisakan apa pun.
