Shloka 14

Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

तत्पश्चात्‌ दो ही घड़ीके बाद भगवान्‌ इन्द्र इन्द्राणीके साथ ऐरावतकी पीठपर बैठकर वहाँ आये। देवताओंके समुदायने उन्हें सब ओरसे घेर रखा था ।। पाण्डुरेणातपत्रेण प्रियमाणेन मूर्थनि । शुशुभे तारकाराज: सितमभ्रमिव स्थित:,उनके मस्तकपर श्वेत छत्र तना हुआ था, जिससे वे शुभ्र वर्णके मेघखण्डसे आच्छादित चन्द्रमाके समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे। बहुत-से तपस्वी-ऋषि तथा गन्धर्वगण उनकी स्तुति करते थे। वे उस पर्वतके शिखरपर आकर ठहर गये, मानो वहाँ सूर्य प्रकट हो गये हों

tatpaścāt dvau hi ghaṭīke bād bhagavān indra indrāṇyā saha airāvatasyā pṛṣṭhe niṣaṇṇaḥ tatra ājagāma | devatā-samūhena sa sarvataḥ parivṛtaḥ | pāṇḍureṇātapatreṇa priyamāṇena mūrdhani śuśubhe tārakārājaḥ sitam abhram iva sthitaḥ | bahavaḥ tapasvino ṛṣayaḥ gandharvāś ca tasya stutiṃ cakruḥ | sa tasya parvatasya śikhare samupasthitaḥ, yathā tatra sūryaḥ prādurbhūta iva ||

Kemudian, setelah berlalu dua ghaṭikā, Indra yang mulia datang ke sana, duduk di punggung Airāvata dengan Indrāṇī di sisinya; rombongan para dewa mengelilinginya dari segala arah. Dengan payung putih terbentang di atas kepalanya, ia bersinar laksana raja bintang—sang bulan—seakan berdiri di tengah gumpal awan pucat. Banyak resi pertapa dan para Gandharva memujinya dengan kidung. Ia berhenti di puncak gunung itu, seolah-olah matahari sendiri telah menampakkan diri di sana.
