Educational Q&A

The verse teaches dharmic prudence: do not initiate needless confrontation with those who are stronger; instead, pursue one’s goal through timely departure, obstacle-free effort, and an auspicious, disciplined mindset, supported by reverence for cosmic order (Dhātṛ/Vidhātṛ).

The narrator Vaiśampāyana conveys a counsel/blessing addressed to a noble, powerful prince: he is urged not to oppose the mighty, to depart swiftly toward victory as if unimpeded, and is sent off with salutations to Dhātṛ and Vidhātṛ and wishes for health and well-being.
