व्यक्त ते विदितो राजन्नर्थों द्रव्यपरिग्रह: । प्रकृतिं चापि वेत्थास्य विकृतिं चापि भूयसीम्‌,“राजन! आपको यह अच्छी तरह ज्ञात है कि धनसे ही भोग्य-सामग्रीका संग्रह होता है। धनका जो कारण है, उससे भी आप परिचित हैं और धनके द्वारा जो बहुत-से कार्य सिद्ध होते हैं, उसे भी आप जानते हैं

vyakta te vidito rājann artho dravya-parigrahaḥ | prakṛtiṁ cāpi vetthāsya vikṛtiṁ cāpi bhūyasīm ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai Raja, engkau mengetahui dengan jelas bahwa kekayaanlah yang memungkinkan diperolehnya berbagai barang dan sumber daya untuk dinikmati dan dipergunakan. Engkau pun memahami asal-muasalnya—apa yang melahirkan kekayaan—dan engkau mengetahui dengan baik banyaknya akibat serta pengaruh luas yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh kekayaan.”
