Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the unpredictability of events in the forest-ascetic world: what is taken for granted can vanish in an instant. It also hints at the need for vigilance and discernment, since swift, deceptive movements (often linked in this parva to tests or illusions) can disrupt settled life.

A great deer, after taking the pieces of wood, rushes away in haste. With powerful, bounding leaps it quickly goes out of sight, disappearing beyond the hermitage.
