सूर्य उवाच अदित्या कुण्डले राज्ञि दत्ते मे मत्तकाशिनि । तेडस्य दास्यामि वै भीरु वर्म चैवेदमुत्तमम्,सूर्यदेवने कहा--यौवनके मदसे सुशोभित होनेवाली भीरु राजकुमारी! माता अदितिने मुझे जो कुण्डल दिये हैं, उन्हें मैं तुम्हारे इस पुत्रको दे दूँगा। साथ ही यह उत्तम कवच भी उसे अर्पित करूँगा
sūrya uvāca | adityā kuṇḍale rājñi datte me mattakāśini | te tasya dāsyāmi vai bhīru varma caivam idam uttamam ||
Surya berkata: “Wahai putri raja yang pemalu, bersinar oleh kebanggaan masa muda! Anting yang diberikan ibuku, Aditi, kepadaku—akan kuberikan sungguh-sungguh kepada putramu. Dan bersamanya akan kuanugerahkan pula baju zirah yang unggul ini.”
