Shloka 17

Educational Q&A

Steadfast ethical discipline—especially the integrity of a vrata, self-control, and devotion—becomes a sign of inner power and auspicious outcome; moral resolve is presented as efficacious in confronting fate.

Dālbhyā addresses the king and interprets the situation: the king’s newly awakened insight and Savitrī’s unwavering fasting-vow, even as she accompanies her husband without eating, are taken as indications that Satyavān is alive.
