bhayāt pradudruvuḥ sarve vānarāḥ sarvato diśam |
Melihat ilusi mengerikan yang ditimbulkan rākṣasa berkepala sepuluh itu, semua vānarā dilanda takut, tercerai-berai, dan lari ke segala arah.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Fear, especially when triggered by deceptive appearances (māyā), can dissolve unity and judgment; the ethical lesson is to cultivate steadiness and discernment so that one is not driven into rash flight by intimidation.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a moment when the vānaras, terrified by the terrifying illusion displayed by the ten-headed rākṣasa (Daśānana), scatter and run away in all directions.
