Waiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai wanita mulia, semoga para Pāṇḍava memandangmu—berkecukupan kemuliaan garis keturunan agung dan tegak pada kedudukan yang luhur serta amat mujur—laksana Yayāti, putra Nahuṣa.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the Mahābhārata’s ethical valuation of noble lineage joined with a firmly established, auspicious conduct and status. It presents ‘great birth’ not as mere pride, but as a standard of dignity and responsibility—evoked through the exemplar of a renowned king (Yayāti).
Vaiśampāyana offers a benedictive statement: he expresses the wish that the Pāṇḍavas may see the addressed lady as one who is nobly born and securely established in an eminent, auspicious condition—comparing her (in eminence) to Yayāti, famed as the son/descendant of Nahuṣa.
