सरमा नाम या माता शुनां देवी जनाधिप । सापि गर्भान् समादत्ते मानुषीणां सदैव हि,नरेश्वर! कुत्तोंकी माता जो देवजातीय सरमा है, वह भी सदैव मानवीय स्त्रियोंके गर्भस्थ बालकोंका अपहरण करती रहती है
saramā nāma yā mātā śunāṃ devī janādhipa | sāpi garbhān samādatte mānuṣīṇāṃ sadaiva hi nareśvara ||
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: “Wahai penguasa manusia, Saramā—ibu ilahi para anjing—juga senantiasa merenggut janin dari rahim perempuan manusia.”
