Shloka 20

Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)

अनिष्टं चान्वितं पश्यंस्तथा क्षिप्रं विरज्यते । ततकश्न प्रतिकुर्वन्ति यदि पश्यन्त्युपक्रमात्‌,यदि किसी कार्यमें अनिष्टका संयोग दिखायी देता है तो मनुष्य शीघ्र ही उससे निवृत्त हो जाता है। और यदि आरम्भ होनेसे पहले ही उस अनिष्टका पता लग जाता है तो लोग उसके प्रतीकारका उपाय करने लगते हैं

aniṣṭaṃ cānvitaṃ paśyaṃs tathā kṣipraṃ virajyate | tatakāśna pratikurvanti yadi paśyanty upakramāt ||

Bila seseorang melihat bahwa suatu usaha disertai unsur yang tidak baik, ia segera mengundurkan diri darinya. Dan bila ketidakberuntungan itu diketahui bahkan sebelum pekerjaan dimulai, orang-orang pun sejak awal menyiapkan penangkal dan langkah perbaikannya.
