Shloka 24

स्कन्दोपाख्यानम् — उत्पातशान्तिः, स्वाहारूपविचारः, कौमारमङ्गलक्रियाः

स्वयं च स्नापयाम्येतौ तथा पादौ प्रधावये । आहारं च प्रयच्छामि स्वयं च द्विजसत्तम,द्विजश्रेष्ठ! मैं स्वयं ही इन्हें नहलाता हूँ, इनके चरण धोता हूँ और स्वयं ही भोजन परोसकर इन्हें जिमाता हूँ

svayaṃ ca snāpayāmy etau tathā pādau pradhāvaye | āhāraṃ ca prayacchāmi svayaṃ ca dvijasattama ||

Wahai brahmana terbaik! Aku sendiri memandikan kedua orang ini dan membasuh kaki mereka; aku sendiri menyediakan makanan dan dengan tanganku sendiri menyajikannya serta menyuapi mereka.
