एतदिच्छामि भगवनू प्रश्न॑ प्रश्नविदां वर | श्रीतुं भूुगुकुलश्रेष्ठ शुश्रूषे तव सुव्रत,भगवन्‌! भृूगुकुलशिरोमणे! आप उत्तम व्रतके पालक और प्रश्नका समाधान करनेवाले दिद्वानोंमें श्रेष्ठ हैं। मैंने जो प्रश्न आपके सम्मुख उपस्थित किया है, उसीका उत्तर मैं आपसे सुनना चाहता हूँ

etad icchāmi bhagavan praśnaṁ praśnavidāṁ vara | śrotuṁ bhṛgukulaśreṣṭha śuśrūṣe tava suvrata bhagavan bhṛgukulaśiromaṇe ||

Wahai Yang Mulia, terbaik di antara para pemecah persoalan; wahai yang terdepan dari garis Bhṛgu; wahai pemegang tapa-brata yang luhur—aku ingin mendengar tepat hal ini. Wahai Bhagavan, permata mahkota kaum Bhṛgu, jawaban atas pertanyaan yang telah kuajukan di hadapanmu itulah yang ingin kudengar darimu; aku siap mendengarkan dan melayanimu.
