धुन्धुमार इति ख्यातो नाम्नाप्रतिरथो5भवत् | उस समय महामना राजा कुवलाश्व धुन्धुको मारनेके कारण “धुन्धुमार” नामसे विख्यात हो गये। उनका सामना करनेवाला वीर कोई नहीं रह गया था
Dhundhumāra iti khyāto nāmnāpratiratho 'bhavat |
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: “Karena membunuh Dhundhu, Raja Kuvalāśva yang berhati agung termasyhur dengan nama ‘Dhundhumāra’. Ia pun menjadi kesatria tanpa tanding—tiada seorang pun pahlawan yang sanggup berdiri melawannya.”
