Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: hanta te kathayiṣyāmi śṛṇu rājan Yudhiṣṭhira | dharmiṣṭham idam ākhyānaṃ Dhundhumārasya tac chṛṇu ||
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: “Baiklah, akan kuceritakan kepadamu. Dengarkan, wahai Raja Yudhiṣṭhira. Kisah Dhundhumāra ini teguh berlandaskan dharma; dengarkanlah dengan saksama.”
