Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction
मनो यस्येन्द्रियस्पेह विषयान् याति सेवितुम् | तस्यौत्सुक्यं सम्भवति प्रवृत्तिश्नोपजायते,मन जिस इन्द्रियके विषयोंका सेवन करने जाता है, उसीमें उस विषयके प्रति उत्सुकता भर जाती है और वह इन्द्रिय उस विषयके उपभोगमें प्रवृत्त हो जाती है
mano yasyendriyaspeha viṣayān yāti sevitum | tasyautsukyaṃ sambhavati pravṛttiś copajāyate ||
Bila pikiran seseorang, didorong oleh hasrat indria, pergi untuk menikmati objek-objek indria, maka timbullah kegairahan terhadapnya; lalu indria pun menjadi aktif mengejar kenikmatan itu.
