ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः

Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction

युधिछिर उवाच नार्थोपभोगलिप्सार्थमियमर्थेप्सुता मम । भरणार्थ तु विप्राणां ब्रह्मन्‌ काडक्षे न लोभत:,युधिष्ठिरने कहा--ब्रह्मन! मैं जो धन चाहता हूँ वह इसलिये नहीं कि मुझे धनसम्बधी भोग भोगनेकी इच्छा है। मैं तो ब्राह्मणोंक भरण-पोषणके लिये ही धनकी इच्छा रखता हूँ, लोभवश नहीं

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | nārthopabhoga-lipsārtham iyam arthepsutā mama | bharaṇārthaṃ tu viprāṇāṃ brahman kāṅkṣe na lobhataḥ |

Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Wahai Brahmana, hasratku akan kekayaan bukanlah karena dahaga menikmati harta benda. Aku mencari sarana hanya untuk memelihara dan menanggung para Brahmana—bukan karena ketamakan.”
