Ethical transformation begins with disciplined speech and daily counsel: one should encourage harshness to soften into sūnṛta (truthful, gentle words) and actively seek opportunities for respectful service to the virtuous (here, Brāhmaṇas). Such conduct is presented as a direct cause of puṇya and higher spiritual attainment.
A princess addresses the sage Vāmadeva, describing her daily practice: she carefully advises her cruel-tempered husband to speak kindly and she herself looks for chances to serve Brāhmaṇas. She expresses the hope that these righteous actions will lead her to attain a meritorious heavenly realm.
