प्रावृट्-शरत्-वर्णनम् — Description of the Monsoon and Autumn; Sarasvatī in the Pāṇḍavas’ Exile
मृगप्रेप्सुर्महारौद्रे वने चरति निर्भय: स तत्र मनुजव्याप्रो वने वनचरोपम:
mṛgaprepsur mahāraudre vane carati nirbhayaḥ | sa tatra manujavyāpro vane vanacaropamaḥ ||
Waiśampāyana berkata— Menginginkan buruan rusa, ia bergerak tanpa takut di rimba yang amat mengerikan itu; di sana sang “harimau di antara manusia” menjelajah hutan laksana penghuni sejatinya.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights fearlessness and determined effort in a threatening environment, while implicitly raising an ethical contrast between inner resolve and the potentially desire-driven aim of hunting—inviting reflection on self-mastery and the motives behind one’s actions.
