वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights nature as a sustaining refuge: abundance and beauty in the forest imply a supportive moral cosmos where those living with discipline and dharma can be maintained even in exile.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes the forest setting as exceptionally beautiful and fruitful, establishing the scene and mood for events in the Vana Parva by emphasizing the richness of the woodland environment.
