लोके क्षीणे क्षयं यान्ति भावा लोकप्रवर्तका: । युगक्षयकृता धर्माः प्रार्थनानि विकुर्वते,लोकके क्षीण होनेपर उसके प्रवर्तक भावोंका भी क्षय हो जाता है। युग-क्षयजनित धर्म मनुष्यकी अभीष्ट कामनाओंके विपरीत फल देते हैं
loke kṣīṇe kṣayaṁ yānti bhāvā lokapravartakāḥ | yugakṣayakṛtā dharmāḥ prārthanāni vikurvate ||
Ketika dunia merosot, dorongan dan watak yang menggerakkan masyarakat pun ikut layu. Dan dharma yang terbentuk oleh kemerosotan suatu zaman membelokkan doa serta harapan manusia—memberi hasil yang berlawanan dengan yang dicari.
