स गृहीत्वा वसुमतीं शृज्जेणैकेन भास्वता । योजनानां शतं वीर समुद्धरति सो$क्षर:,वीर युधिष्ठिर! अविनाशी भगवान् विष्णुने अपने एक ही तेजस्वी दाँतके द्वारा पृथ्वीको थामकर उसे सौ योजन ऊपर उठा दिया
sa gṛhītvā vasumatīṃ śṛṅgeṇaikena bhāsvatā | yojanānāṃ śataṃ vīra samuddharati so 'kṣaraḥ || vīra yudhiṣṭhira! avināśī bhagavān viṣṇuḥ svenaikena tejasvinā daṃṣṭreṇa pṛthivīṃ dhṛtvā tāṃ śata-yojanam ūrdhvaṃ samuddhṛtavān ||
Wahai pahlawan Yudhiṣṭhira! Tuhan Viṣṇu yang tak binasa, dengan satu taringnya yang bercahaya, menggenggam Bumi dan mengangkatnya seratus yojana ke atas.
लोमश उवाच
The verse highlights the sustaining role of the divine in upholding dharma and cosmic stability: when the world is endangered, the imperishable Lord restores balance, encouraging faith, humility, and reliance on righteous order beyond mere human power.
Lomaśa recounts to Yudhiṣṭhira a deed of Viṣṇu—evoking the Varāha-like image—where the Lord, using a single radiant tusk, supports and lifts the Earth upward by a vast measure (a hundred yojanas), symbolizing rescue and restoration.
