The colophon underscores pilgrimage (tīrthayātrā) as a dharmic discipline: approaching sacred places with reverence is presented as a means of inner purification and ethical reorientation, not merely travel.
This is a concluding colophon: it signals the end of a chapter within the Vana Parva’s pilgrimage section, at the point where Lomāśa’s pilgrimage narrative reaches the episode of entering the mountain region beginning with Mount Kailāsa.
