True dharma includes restraint after the exercise of power: the warrior who can conquer also must know when to relinquish control. By gifting the earth to a sage, Paraśurāma models the ethical ideal that authority is not an entitlement but something that can be surrendered for higher order and peace.
Rāma (Paraśurāma) states that after giving the entire earth to the sage Kaśyapa, he lives on the great mountain Mahendra. The line situates Paraśurāma away from worldly dominion, emphasizing his withdrawal to a mountain abode following the transfer of sovereignty.
