Sagara Upākhyāna: Kapila’s Wrath, Aṃśumān’s Reverence, and the Bhāgīratha Line
The verse underscores impermanence and the limits of pride in progeny: many powerful sons may perish together, while the continuity of a dynasty may rest on a single worthy heir—suggesting that dharma and destiny, not mere numbers, sustain a lineage.
A speaker named Logaś addresses a king with a prophetic statement: the king’s many sons (implied from one wife) will be destroyed together, but from another wife one heroic son will be born who will continue the royal line.
